Matt Wills attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where he studied under such drummers as Yoron Israel, Kenwood Dennard, and Skip Hadden and where he was the principle drummer for The Quincy Jones Big Band lead by Quincy Jones. Following Berklee, Matt spent three years performing with Celebrity Cruise Lines as a show band drummer. He has performed myriad Broadway production shows including Wicked, Mama Mia, and Hairspray and played with various guest artists including stints backing Debbie Gibson.
Since moving to Toronto Matt has built a thriving club performance career as well as a busy teaching practice. His deep knowledge of all musical styles makes him a flexible and versatile performer no matter what the style of music. He is currently performing throughout Toronto with various jazz and Afro-Cuban ensembles.
